Paid positions, reviews and affiliate links

Positions on the boards are bought. The highest bid holds a spot until someone outbids it. A position shows who paid the most for visibility - it is not a quality rating, a recommendation or a sign that we tested the brand.

Buying a position does not buy a review, a score or positive wording. A review appears only when we write and publish it, and it follows our methodology. Brands cannot edit reviews.

Some buttons and links lead through affiliate (referral) links. If you register or deposit through them, we may receive a commission. It costs you nothing extra and does not change what a review says. Such links are marked as sponsored for search engines.

Every paid position, sponsored block and referral click on Gamblerank goes back into testing. A real review costs real money: a deposit that has to be made to find out whether a withdrawal actually arrives, hours spent reading bonus terms and checking a licence against the regulator's register, and the servers that keep these pages free to open. That is the only reason the site sells visibility - it funds the checks and keeps the results public.

It is also what makes honest verdicts possible. Income comes from many brands, so no single advertiser decides what a review says, and a casino that withholds a payout or rewrites its terms can still be written up. Each casino board carries a short footnote saying which listings are advertising; if you ever cannot tell, ask us and we will point you to the source.

• Invent test results, bonuses or licence details.
• Call a paid position "the best" or "recommended".
• Hide that a page is a demo or unverified.
